Bennet Back From Venice (conclusion).

Buzzing. There was a faint buzzing in Klemey's ear. She slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head up. She was in what was suppose to be the living room of the unfinished house. Derek was just finishing off tying a knot of rope around her left wrist. He had tied her to an old wooden chair, her hands on the armrests of it and her uninjured leg tied to the chair's leg. Thankfully her leg with the broken ankle was left free from the pressure of the rope, Klemey could only how painful that would've been. Derek left the room for a minute after checking the knot on her leg. This gave Klemey time to think, what am I going to do? She knew the red headed woman would be back...Then she looked up and saw that the front door was just ten feet ahead of her...An escape! Her heart speed up. Right then Derek came back into the room dragging an unconscious Matthew. He roughly dropped him three feet in front of her. "Everything's ready!" He yelled. "Agnus!!!" The red headed woman walked in through the same door as Derek had, knife in hand. By this time Klemey had formed a plan of escape. She rocked in the chair to test it's weakness and prayed her broken ankle would stay numb throughout what she was going to do, her entire plan depended on it!

Angel was now the one in front of the wheel and driving three times faster than Rai had been. They sped through five street lights and ran over at least one trash can. Angel was just blaring through the streets, honking the horn like crazy. "FASTER!" Rai screamed. They had found an article in the stack of old news papers stored at the city hall. It was two obituaries. One for Aaron Johnson and a woman named Patty Lumber. It turns out Aaron had been engaged to a woman named Agnus Timber also Patty's boss. So Patty must've been Baby Blue! The pieces connected for Angel and Rai. "Agnus?" Angel had scoffed at the hideous name. "That must be the red headed women." And sure enough when they looked her up on Google a picture of a red headed women popped up, the same woman from the video on Klemey's laptop. They also found out that the police had a warrant out on Angus for involvement in Aaron and Patty's suspicious deaths in a car accident. There was an entire article about how she was so entirely in love with Aaron, they had been planning on getting married, having children, and living in a beautiful house out on the edge of town. There was a picture of the house half built on a hill. "There!" Rai pointed to the picture. She wrote the address down and they dashed out of there."We have to go there!" Rai had a feeling in the pit of her stomach, that was the place to go for answers. "What makes you so sure she's there?" Angel asked as they flew about five feet in the air driving over a speed bump. "I don't know...But it's our only shot!" Angel turned onto the street of the house. They pulled to a stop directly in front of the house, still unfinished in it's construction. Angel turned the car off and they stared up to the house. They saw only one light seemed to be on...In the living room. "Come on!" Rai got out of the car and went to the trunk. She popped it opened and grabbed the tire iron and a bat for Angel. Thanks Chris! She thought. Chris had tried a few weeks ago, before their trip to Venice, to teach Rai how to play baseball, but he failed. She never took the equipment out of the trunk. They crept up the hill slowly and carefully.

Chris slammed his phone down on the dashboard of the police cruiser. "Rai!" He let out in anger. Where are you? He looked out the window into the dark, so worried. The officer next to him looked at him and said "It'll be okay...Your fiance will be found." He tapped the G.P.S. screen and then pressed harder onto the gas pedal catching up to the two cruisers in front of him.

"I..." Agnus began as she knelt in front of Matthew and slapped him. He woke up slightly. "..am going to kill him...Just as I promised." She got up and walked behind him, she looked at Klemey. Her eyes were full of madness, she was completely crazy. She grabbed a good lock of Matthew's hair and violently pulled his head up revealing his throat, three weeks of stubble had grown. NOW! Klemey bent forward and stood up slightly on her broken ankle, the pain was instantaneous. She got a few inches off the ground, which was barely enough, but still enough. She tilted the chair and slammed it down. The weak old chair cracked and broke in half against the floor. That freed her hands and leg. She quickly pulled the broken pieces of chair off her and tried to stand up. Derek was on her in seconds, but she grabbed the back of the chair, the biggest piece of the broken wood and lunged at him. She broke that piece right over his huge head. He dropped back, clearly effected and dizzy. "Agh!" He said as he slumped to the floor. "You bitch!" Agnus forgot all about Matthew and stepped toward Klemey, the knife pointed at her. "NOOOO!!!!" Angel yelled and heroically swung the bat up into the air and brought it down onto Agnus' head. There was a thick thump and she feel to the floor, unconscious. Rai was standing in the open doorway on the verge of hyperventilating. "KLEMEY!" She managed to breath out, she rushed to Klemey. Angel dropped the bat and bent on her knees in front of Klemey. "Omph!" Klemey sighed out as the two crushed her in a hug. "How did you guys get here?" Klemey was so confused, but glad. She looked at them tears of joy rushing down her face. They were so busy hugging her that they didn't notice Derek. He had gotten up and had raised the bat Angel had dropped over them. "AGH!!!" He roared. "FREEZE YOU SON OF A BITCH OR I WILL SHOOT!!!" All three girls turned to the opened front door. There stood a police officer holding his gun out in front of him, dead serious about his threat. Derek must've seen that seriousness because he dropped the bat and put his hands over his head. "RAI!!!" Chris rushed in. "Oh my God!" Rai stood up. "Chris?!?" Chris took three big strides across the room and scooped up Rai. "Damn, I was so worried about you!" He kissed her. "You were gone for two whole days! No call! No messages!" He looked at her sternly. "I called Gio and he was freaking out because Angel was missing too! So I called the cops and they tracked you using the G.P.S. in your car..." He hugged her, not letting her go.

Gio pulled up into the driveway, not aware that he had parked halfway onto the yard. "Angel!" He ran to her. The cops had already taken Agnus and Derek away. It turned out Agnus was after the folder because it was the only thing that could give the police motive for her killing of Patty and Aaron. "She is going away for a long long time." A cop tolled Klemey as she was put into a ambulance. God, she shook her head. They had put her into one of those rolling beds that they always put people into when they were injured. They had strapped her down so she wouldn't bounce to bad while they were rolling her out of the house. How embarassing, she closed her eyes. News reporters and big vans from Channel Six and Eleven were now there flashing pictures and asking questions. The medics had already taken Matthew to the hospital. Rai and Angel jumped into the ambulance and looked at Klemey. "Ahh!" They smiled. "Everything's okay now!" They drove off.

One Month Later:

"You know one in four pregnancy tests are wrong..." Klemey sat on the edge of the bath tub. She was repeating the words from the commercial for the pregnancy test like a true spokeswoman. "Most women don't know how really read a pregnancy test right..." She swung her head laughing. "Shut up!" Rai tried to throw a roll of tissue paper at her, but her wedding dress was to tight. Damn! She thought. Rai and Klemey were sitting in the bathroom of the reception hall. Rai had decided to try one more pregnancy test just to make sure. "You know doing this the day of your wedding isn't exactly a good omen..." Klemey raised her eyebrows, she looked quite fabulous in her made of honor/brides made dress, a flattering knee high light green dress with flowing layers at the skirt. "It's time." Klemey nodded to the sink, where the test stick was sitting. Rai grabbed it and sucked in her breath. It was negative. "I...I...I'm not pregnant..." Rai looked up relieved. She looked at it again. She was glad that she wasn't pregnant, but then again she wasn't...Klemey looked at her from the tub and smiled knowingly. "The right time will come when your ready..." Rai smiled glad to have her there. "OH MY GOD!!!!" Angel burst through the door. "It's TIME!" Klemey looked at Rai. "Crap!" They both jumped up and rushed out of the bathroom. Haha, late for my own wedding....Priceless! Rai thought as she ran down the hallway holding her dress up out of her feets way. Klemey breathed in and smiled as she walked down the aisle, the organ music playing beautifully. Wow, Klemey thought, looking over the room. Angel had done a wonderful job planning her and Rai's double wedding. The guest sat on smooth dark wooden chairs, light pink ribbons tied to their backs. The fresh flowers smelt delicious in Klemey's hand. Her smile widened as she glanced over at Matthew. He was standing behind Gio and Chris, their best man. It took some convincing on Klemey's part, but Rai finally forgave Matthew for his cheating, even though technically Agnus had drugged him so it wasn't cheating...Klemey walked up to her standing place and watched proudly as Rai and Angel walked up to the podium. She held her breath as she watched Rai, Angel, Chris, and Gio become life long partners, by saying the words, 'I do...'

Rai finally tore away from her crying mother and excited father and joined Angel and Klemey by the cake. The guest had already gotten their pieces so they met there for seconds. "Umm," Rai looked at Klemey. "We kinda have something to tell you..." She looked nervous. Angel's eyes widened and then were hit with a sudden realization. "Oh!" She mouthed. "It's about the invite list..." But before Angel and Rai could go on a group of bustling woman came up to them. "Come on! You guys have to throw your flowers! It's tradition!" They were talking about the tradition of the brides throwing their flower bouquets over their shoulders into a group of single women, and the lucky one who caught it was supposedly next to be married. "Okay, okay!" Angel and Rai stepped up the stairs and turned their backs to the crowded group. Argh! Klemey looked at the crazy women, she was stuck smack dab in the middle of them. She tried to push a pudgy woman out of her way, but couldn't so she just looked at and waited for her friends to throw their flowers. "One...Two.." Angel and Rai grabbed each others hands and closed their eyes, smiling. "..Three!" They both threw the bouquets and turned around. They both gasped as they saw they women standing back a few feet away from Klemey, who was standing in the middle looking completely stunned. She was holding BOTH bouquets...Ca-rap! Klemey looked at her hands. How the hell did I get both? After the crowd dispersed Rai and Angel walked up to her. "What?" They both smiled. "You know what this means!" Angel knudged her on the shoulder and started humming the wedding music theme. "Shut up!" Klemey smiled. "You know I swear one of those women called me a slut as she walked away..." Rai just laughed. "So what were you saying about the invite list?" Angel's smiling face turned down, but once again they were interrupted. "May I have this dance?" Gio and Chris walked up and stole away Angel and Rai to the dance floor, a slow familiar beat started up. Matthew snuck up to Klemey. "Me too!" He smiled and pulled her to the dance floor. They were spinning before the band even completely started the song. The singer, who Klemey couldn't see, tapped the microphone. "Um, excuse me ladies and gentlemen, I hope you all are enjoying yourselves..." Klemey was barely listening as some people applauded. "I, myself, am a guest of these wedding, but the grooms have asked me to sing for you...So have can I resist..." Klemey smiled and looked into Matthew's eyes. "You know..."He started. "I saw that you caught the bouquets...You know what that means..." He looked at her, something in his eyes was different, serious. "This song..."The singer began again. "I would like to dedicate to another lovely guest of this beautiful wedding...I would like to dedicate this to her and say Rialto was the best part of Italy..." Then the music picked up and he began to sing. What? Klemey slowed down and tried to see who was singing, but there were to many people on the floor. The lyrics flowed into the room. "...I think that possibly, maybe I'm falling for you...Yes, there's a chance that I've fallen quite hard over you..." Klemey came to a complete stop and her mouth dropped. "...I've seen the paths that your eyes wander down, I want to come too...I think that possibly, maybe I'm falling for you...No one understands me quite like you do...Through all of the shadowy corners of me..." His voice was dreamy and Klemey smiled. "...I never knew just what it was about this old coffee shop I love so much...All of the while I never knew..." Klemey let go of Matthew and pushed through the dancing crowd and reached the stage. She looked up and the singer smiled at her. "Landon..." She smiled back. "Klemey, are you okay?" Matthew came up behind her and put his hands over her shoulder. He gently kissed her forehead and pulled him around to face her. He went to kiss her as she tried to look back at Landon. His face was crunched up. He had stopped singing. "Landon..."She called out to him, but he was already off the stage and headed out the door. Klemey pulled away from Matthew and ran after him. "Landon!" Klemey called. He stopped at the end of the hall. Klemey bent down, her hands on her knees. She needed to catch her breath. "What was that?!?" Landon looked at her clearly hurt. "Landon..." Klemey stood up. "I don't know how to explain...The last few months..."She looked at him pleading. "Oh! You don't even have to bother!" He waved his hand. "You had a boyfriend back at home...I was just a good time!" He was holding onto the railing of the stairs. "Landon! It wasn't even like that..." Klemey wiped a tear. "Oh don't waste your tears lying to me!" Landon half yelled. "Klemey?" Matthew came through the door. "Are you okay? Who is this?" There in the empty hallway Klemey looked at Matthew to the left of her then to Landon on her right. Oh, man....

...The End...
(For Now)
